Agenda:
Bridging Finance and Operations – This workshop is designed for non-accounting managers and their finance/accounting counterparts to attend together — helping everyone speak the same financial language and work more effectively as one team. This is meant to be a half day, live, in-person session with the following agenda.
- 1 – Understanding Basic Financial Statements
A plain-language walkthrough of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement — focused on what non-financial leaders need to know to make better decisions and ask the right questions. - 2 – Inventory Costing
We’ll explain how inventory is valued, how it impacts the bottom line, and why operational decisions (like production scheduling or purchasing) can significantly affect financial results. - 3 – LEGO® Lean Exercise
An interactive hands-on activity using LEGO® bricks to simulate production processes — demonstrating how lean principles reduce waste, improve flow, and tie directly to financial outcomes.
(Fun, memorable, and perfect for cross-functional teams!) - 4 – Cost Savings Discussion
We’ll connect the dots between financial visibility and real-world cost savings — showing how better understanding and communication between finance and operations leads to smarter, faster decisions. - 5 – Open Q&A
We’ll wrap with an open forum for discussion, questions, and shared takeaways between teams.
