Dreams are coming true for Burns Science and Technology Charter School Principal Jan McGee.
Earlier this year, the Volusia School Board approved a charter high school to accompany the K-8 Oak Hill school. McGee decided to expand Burns Sci-Tech to include ninth-graders next year, and still has a wait list with 600 students on it — as many students as are currently enrolled in the school. And now, the school’s finally getting close to opening a gymnasium.
